SAVANNAH – Beth Williamson Boone died on July 25, 2010 at Savannah Commons surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her son Gary Croom.
Beth was a lifetime member of the Couples Sunday School Class of Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church and the Alee Temple Patrol Auxiliary. She served as president of both organizations. She was also a member of the Tybee Light Shrine Club.
She enjoyed a forty year career in ladies apparel originating at Levy's of Savannah. Her employment continued at Hogan's, and then Town and Country, and Beth retired as owner of Beth's Fashions after twenty years. Upon her retirement in 1989, she enjoyed dances, art lessons, fashion shows, playing cards, and family activities.
Her survivors are her husband of fifty-nine years, Sidney W. Boone; two daughters, Layne Weiland and Tricia Lewis Bill; a daughter-in-law, Diane Croom; two brothers, Edward Williamson Jackie and David Williamson Joan; seven granddaughters; three great-granddaughters; and one great-grandson.
The visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Wednesday, July 28, at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, July 29, at Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church.
Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to the Morris Slotin Fund of Alee Temple, P.O. Box 14147, Savannah, GA 31416 or the Alzheimer's Association.
